An Artist’s Curation: My Favorite Gifts for the Season
This holiday season, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things—treasures I love gifting and living with. Consider this my artist’s curation: a blend of my own jewels paired with beautiful, soul-filled objects from fellow artisans whose work inspires me every day. I adore the idea of gifting in harmony… pieces that speak to each other, elevate each other, and bring beauty and intention into the home.
Here are some of the objects I’m loving right now—and the jewels I’d personally pair with each one.
Andy Paiko: Bell Jars
I’ve long admired Andy Paiko’s bell jars, and if you’ve visited the gallery, you’ve seen them housing my favorite gem specimens—each one nestled in a one-of-a-kind glass vessel. They’re exquisite on a mantle or a curated bookcase, offering the perfect stage for something rare and meaningful.
Danny Sanchez: Photographs of Otherworldly Beauty
Danny Sanchez captures gems in a way no one else does—literally stacking over 100 images to create a single photograph. His work reveals the interior worlds of stones: luminous, mysterious, endlessly dimensional. I’m forever pulled toward his opal pieces; they feel like portals.
Robert Kuo: Sculptural Objects with Soul
I’ve been collecting Robert Kuo for years, and one of his rock crystal lamps is among my most cherished possessions in the studio. His work brings such strength and serenity into a space. If you’re dreaming of adding one of these pieces to your home, reach out—I’m always happy to help.
Mr. Witch Botanicals: Setting the Energy
I’m all about keeping good energy around me—and for a little cosmic recalibration, I reach for the all-natural room sprays from Mr. Witch Botanicals. Each blend is uplifting, subtle, and comes with a charming incantation. I use them constantly, especially during long studio days.
Power and Light Press: Letterpress with Humor and Heart
I will always love the tactile magic of print. Power and Light Press, run by a childhood friend in Silver City, produces the most delightfully irreverent letterpress cards—each one hand-printed with wit and charm. Stock up, share generously, and spread a little laughter this season. A handwritten note is already a jewel, but if you want something to complement the playfulness...
Kit Santa Fe: My Latest Silk Scarf Obsession
I’ve always been a scarf person, but now that I live somewhere windy, they’re officially essential. As soon as the air shifts cooler, I’m wearing a kerchief. My new favorites are by Kit Santa Fe, who designs the most gorgeous silk scarves—each one rich with color and story.
If you'd like help curating your own gifting pairings, I love helping people create meaningful, personal gift moments.
Wishing you a beautiful, art-filled holiday season.
